How does the exchange process work with toern?

We connect to your Shopify account and check which product variants (e.g., different sizes) are available during the returns process. These are then offered directly to your customers for exchange. The desired item is automatically reserved and shipped after the return is processed - keeping the revenue with your brand.

Can I offer store gift cards as a return option?

Yes, with just one click, your customers can choose a gift card instead of a refund. Optionally, you can add a bonus (e.g., +5%) to increase the incentive for gift cards and retain more revenue in your store.

Do I receive reports on exchange and gift card revenue?

In the dashboard, you’ll find all relevant analytics – including exchange rates, gift card usage, and retention KPIs. This way, you can see exactly how much revenue was “saved” through exchanges or gift cards. Do you need a specific metric? We’re happy to add it.

Can I define my own rules for exchanges and gift cards?

Absolutely. You can set rules individually in the flow builder - for example, who sees which exchange option and when gift cards are offered. You can flexibly activate or deactivate the features.

How are gift cards triggered?

toern automatically generates Shopify gift cards instead of issuing a refund. These gift cards are based on your existing Shopify settings and are directly linked to the respective order.

How long are gift cards valid?

You decide this yourself — either with an expiration date (e.g. 12 months) or without a limit. The configuration is done directly in your Shopify system.

When are exchanges sent to customers, and can this be customized?

We follow your Shopify settings. Whether shipping occurs immediately after the request, after the item is received, or following a manual review – you decide how it proceeds.

Can I prevent customers from initiating returns and instead encourage an exchange?

We can’t force anyone – but we create targeted incentives so that your customers are more likely to choose an exchange or a voucher. For example, by directly suggesting the right sizes or offering an extra bonus on vouchers (e.g., +5 %). This way, revenue stays in your shop – and customer satisfaction remains high.
